Privacy policy
This notice describes current website processing and the planned app launch in November 2026. It distinguishes data stored on your device from information processed by the website, stores and service providers.
Controller and contact
The controller for PokerWise processing is Peak Wise Kft., Budapest, Hungary. Use the contact button below for privacy questions, access requests or withdrawal from email communications.
You do not need a PokerWise account to join the email list. A separate PokerWise user account is not planned for the app either; an Apple or Google account belongs to the relevant store, not to PokerWise.
Email subscriptions and website requests
Submitting the form sends your email address, the app name, the website language and the location of the signup button to the existing subscription service. We use this to send the launch announcement and occasional PokerWise news according to the choice described before you subscribe.
Subscription is voluntary. You can withdraw by contacting us using the revealed email address. Loading the website also involves technical requests to hosting and delivery services, which may process network and request information to deliver and secure the website. Website videos, images, flags and store badges are served from this website.
Google Analytics and cookies
The website loads Google Analytics 4 when a page opens. No analytics consent chooser currently gates it. GA4 measures website use, including pages, device and browser information, approximate location and events such as CTA clicks, opening the popup, starting a video and successful signup.
The standard web implementation uses cookies such as _ga to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not send the email entered in the form as an analytics event parameter. Browser settings and blocking tools may limit this processing; withdrawing email permission does not change analytics settings.
Learning data on your device
The app currently stores learning progress, completed lessons, quiz results, achievements, favourites and settings locally on the device. These records are not currently synchronised to a PokerWise account. The settings reset function clears the app's local saved preferences; it does not cancel an external store purchase.
The app can request external images or video content, exposing ordinary network information to the relevant hosting service. If you choose to share an achievement, the operating system sends the selected text and website link to the service you choose. That service handles the shared information under its own rules.
Service providers and planned purchases
Website processing involves the subscription service, hosting and Google Analytics. Depending on the app content requested, external media providers such as Cloudflare or FlagCDN may receive network requests. These requests do not mean that local learning progress is automatically uploaded.
For the planned Pro purchases, Apple or Google will handle store billing and RevenueCat will process purchase and access information. This may include a generated app-user identifier, transaction or receipt information, subscription status and technical data needed to manage access. An identifier without a name is not a claim that no personal data exists. PokerWise does not require you to enter payment-card details on this website.
Purposes and legal bases
Email announcements and news are based on the voluntary permission given when subscribing. You may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. Processing necessary to fulfil a future store subscription supports delivery of the purchased access; store providers also have their own processing responsibilities.
Proportionate technical processing may be necessary to operate and secure the service, and legal obligations may require certain records. GA4 is currently enabled without prior website consent. This notice describes that configuration rather than claiming that publication of a privacy policy itself supplies consent.
Retention and international processing
Email subscription data is retained until permission is withdrawn. You may request removal using the contact address. Any records retained to meet a legal obligation or substantiate a request are limited to that purpose. This notice does not promise an automated deletion or unsubscribe feature that the current website does not provide.
Local learning data remains on the device until reset or otherwise removed; device backups are controlled by your device and its settings. Provider retention and international processing depend on the services and account settings used. We do not claim a specific retention duration or transfer safeguard for a provider configuration that has not been verified.
Your rights and complaints
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to relevant processing and withdraw consent. The rights available depend on the processing and legal basis. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data.
Contact us first if you want help, but you may also complain directly to a supervisory authority. In Hungary this is the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, NAIH. Requests about data independently controlled by Apple, Google or another service may also need to be directed to that provider.

RevenueCat purchases described here are planned and are not yet available in the app. The notice will need to match the actual SDK configuration and store disclosures before those features launch.
Changes to the app, providers or purposes may require an updated notice and, where necessary, a new choice from you. We will not treat the current email signup as permission for unrelated uses of your information.
